How to unlock and buy the Seed Maker
The official fourth major update notes place the Seed Maker behind the General Store upgrade. Once that upgrade is complete, the Fields of Mistria Wiki records the purchase price as 2,000t.
This is a functional furniture item, so place it where you can reach it while carrying the crop or forageable you want to process.

What goes in and what comes out
Use one crop or one valid forageable. The conversion is instant and returns a random one to three seeds of the same type.
The random output matters when you are deciding whether to process a harvest item or keep it for shipping, cooking, gifting, or the Museum. Do not plan around receiving three seeds every time.
- Input: one crop or valid forageable
- Output: one to three matching seeds
- Processing time: instant
- Fruit is not converted into saplings

When the Seed Maker is useful
Use it when matching seeds are harder to replace than the item you are holding, or when you want to carry a crop into another planting cycle. Compare the guaranteed value of the item with the random seed result before processing a scarce harvest.
Why an item may not work
The machine accepts crops and valid forageables, not every item that can be harvested or eaten. If the input prompt does not appear, keep the item rather than assuming the machine is still processing.
Fruit is the clearest published exception: the Seed Maker does not turn fruit into saplings.
