Achievements in 1.0
Steam achievements arrived with the 1.0 release and can unlock retroactively. That lets players bring an Early Access save forward instead of restarting for achievement availability.

Use an existing save
Older saves can continue into 1.0. Load the file you already play before considering a fresh save for achievement progress.

Retroactive unlocking can recognize eligible progress from before 1.0. Load the save, wait for the game to check it, and then compare the platform result with the milestones you have actually completed.
Connect achievements to tasks
If an achievement points toward Museum completion, Renown 100, a town repair, or another system, open the guide for that task. Finish the in-game milestone, then check the platform result again.
When an achievement is still locked
If an expected achievement remains locked, update to the current build and reload the save before repeating the related task. Patch 1.0.3 improved checks for earned achievements, including True Love and Parent. Check the platform overlay after the save finishes loading.
