What hearts 9 and 10 mean
Version 1.0 raises the relationship cap to 10. The final stretch includes scenes at the ninth and tenth heart levels, followed by the proposal part of the romance route.
Keep a candidate’s character page nearby for gifts and birthday planning. It answers the daily relationship questions; this page is for recognizing when you have reached the late-game milestone.

Prepare while the meter is still climbing
Use Loved gifts when they fit your inventory and Liked gifts as backups. Check exact item names, especially where ordinary, Golden, ore, ingot, or recipe variants appear at different preference levels.
At nine hearts, make sure your broader story progress is not being ignored. That way the move from the tenth heart to proposal preparation has fewer loose ends.

What comes after 10 hearts
The proposal checklist has three parts: 10 hearts, the Engagement Ring, and any unfinished story requirements. Elsie provides the ring recipe, and crafting happens at the Forge.
Having the ring does not replace the relationship requirement. Likewise, reaching the heart cap does not replace the ring or story progress.

If you still need the recipe or crafting station, open the Engagement Ring guide. If the ring is ready, use the marriage guide to check the proposal-to-wedding order.
