Finish the proposal checklist
Before the wedding, reach 10 hearts, craft the Engagement Ring at the Forge from Elsie’s recipe, and finish any remaining story progress. Then complete the proposal.
If one of those steps is unfinished, return to the marriage guide. Wedding planning begins after the proposal rather than alongside the heart climb.

Move into the scheduled ceremony
Once the proposal is complete, the next event is a scheduled wedding ceremony. Follow the in-game schedule and keep the day open for the wedding.
For planning purposes, the proposal comes before the ceremony.
On Patch 1.0.3 or later, Spring 14, Fall 7, and Winter 7 can no longer be selected as Wedding Days. Choose another eligible date so the ceremony does not conflict with festival setup.

Choose flowers, cake, and meal
The wedding lets you make choices in three areas: flowers, cake, and meal. Review the selections shown during your wedding and pick the combination you want.
These choices personalize the event but do not replace any earlier requirement. The relationship, ring, story progress, and proposal must already be done.
Decide what comes after marriage
The ceremony completes the wedding path and begins married life. A child is optional rather than an automatic next step.
